Our sessions are for new puppies, old puppies, and all the pets in between. You and your pet will be guided through a joy-filled photography session tailored to their needs to bring out your best selves. Your four-legged friend doesn’t need to be off-leash or trick-trained to have an amazing session… We have all the tools needed to create your perfect, authentic photographs of your pet, just as they are.

Your Photography Experience

1. Inquiry & Initial Chat

To take the exciting leap and book your pet’s session, the first step you should take is to reach out through our contact page here. You can expect a phone call from us to chat more about yourself, your pet, and your vision, and to give you our recommendation for the services and products that will best suit your needs. At that time, we’ll get your session on the books with your session fee, and get to work on creating something special for you and your furbaby.
2. Your Style and Concept Consultation

In the weeks leading up to your session, we’ll come to you to plan your session wardrobe, get your pets feeling cozy around their photographer, and discuss your image goals to create the portrait experience and artwork of your dreams. We’ll talk lots about your furbaby, your bond, and what’s most important to you in your photographs together.
3. Your Session Day

This is when the magic happens — on your session day, we will meet at your session location and move at your pet’s pace until we have captured the emotions, moments, and meaningful details most integral to your bond. Your session will usually last between one to two hours, depending on your pet and the setting. At the end of this day together, you and your best friend will get to go home and relax — and we will get to work on your proof images.
4. Your Ordering Appointment

This is your opportunity to view and purchase your favorite images and artwork from your session! From a handcrafted album of photographs to commemorate your special day together, to wall portraits as grand as your love, and more… this appointment is your tim to see and choose everything that you love from your furbaby’s portraits.
I will be with you through the entire appointment to help assist you in the selection process - creating mock-ups of your product and design requests, giving recommendations, and answering your questions. This is many of our clients’ favorite part, as you see your image proofs for the first time — we are committed to always keeping it low-pressure and giving you the highest level of service.
5. Artwork Delivery

After you choose to purchase all the images your home and heart desire, all that’s left is to wait for your special delivery.
We will hand-deliver your finished products to your home and send you the matching digital files for the artwork you have purchased. Best of all — we’ll take care of your wall artwork installation during our visit with the help of one of our trusted professionals.
When we leave your home for the last time, your artwork will be on your walls and ready for you to enjoy!

Yes. If your pet is most comfortable in his or her space, we will plan to take their photographs in your home (and yard, if applicable). Occasionally, this will require the use of alternative lighting sources, such as a flash or other lighting support tool to ensure that we have adequate lighting.
I also come to your home for your Style & Concept Consultation one to two weeks ahead of your photoshoot to pull out camera-ready outfits for you, share detailed product options, and finalize the details for your pet’s session. We can look at the available lighting and window placement to determine the best time of day to have your session during this appointment.
Let me let you in on a secret…
Most of the dogs you see here on our website were photographed on-leash.
With careful management strategies and post-production, your photographs will be beautiful, with or without a leash. Occasionally, I will also bring an assistant to your photoshoot to help with photographing multiple, very large, and/or very active dog(s). Rest assured, they will be vetted and compassionate individuals who are happy to lend a hand or two to hold onto a leash — this “assistant” can even be a member of your own family.
I have experience in equine, cat, and (pet) farm animal photography. At this time, I do not offer photography for equestrian/horse riding competitions or for livestock sales.

Absolutely - and I encourage you to! Candid photographs of you and your pet are a favorite & specialty of ours here at Sweet Camellia Photography.
Due to the custom nature of our services, our clients spend in a wide range.
Our custom sessions start at $1490, which includes $1000 in artwork credit to apply towards your images.
When your portrait experience is complete, most clients choose to spend $3000 or more on their images as art, including their credit. At your Consultation, we’ll go through the product menu together to better envision your dream photography designs and your final investment.
You will have the opportunity to view the images we create from your session before making your final product selections — so you only buy what you love.
Every image included in your artwork order (whether in an album or framed wall art) will also be provided to you as a high resolution digital file for your safe-keeping, sharing, and personal projects.
